10 Quick, Easy & Healthy Snack Ideas

The whole idea of planning, preparing and cooking food can seem overwhelming at times and it is early to quickly turn to fast food restaurants, microwaves, and packaged foods. Though these readily available foods fill up your stomach, they come with a heavy price.  All those fast foods and packaged meals are stuffed with myriad of unhealthy, artificial and processed ingredients. So refuel yourself on the go with these easy and healthy snacks.

  1. Fruit Salad: Take whatever fruits you have in the fridge, chop them up and drizzle a little lemon juice that acts as a natural preservative. Keep it in the fridge, eat at work, at school or on the go.
  2. Beef Jerky: This one is easy to grab it and go. You can go online to find a variety of flavors. Try to pick up one that is all-natural with no preservatives- grass-fed is best. Other healthy options include turkey, or bison.
  3. Lettuce Wraps: Put some raw veggies, turkey and a light dressing on the top of a large lettuce leaf. Wrap it up and serve.
  4. Kale Chips: This is a much better alternative to potato chips and is jammed packed with nutrition. Just use 1 bunch of kale, 1 table spoon of olive oil, 1 tea spoon sea salt, mix them together and bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Hummus & Veggies: It’s a great source of protein and fiber with absolutely zero cholesterol. This tasty and fulfilling snack should be right choice for all those willing to lose weight.
  6. Dried Fruits & Nuts: It’s a nice combination of nutritious substances that gives you plenty of protein and fiber. Have a handful of nuts and some pieces of dried fruits. Just be careful not to eat too much of it or blends with added sugar- these can be packed with calories.
  7. Ants on a Log: Perhaps it was your favorite during childhood. Be that kid again and enjoy celery with almond butter and a few raisins on the top. You can spice it up by adding some dry fruits like cranberries on the top.
